ELECTION NOTICE

ELECTION OF CONVOCATION REPRESENTATIVES ON UEW GOVERNING COUNCIL

The term of office of the 4 Convocation representatives on Council will come to an end in February 2018. Section 8 (i) of the University of Education Act (672) provides that: “Every member of the Council except the Vice-Chancellor and Principals shall hold office for a period of two years and is eligible for re-appointment”. As a result 4 vacancies have been created in the Convocation slots on Council. Elections will therefore be organized on all Campuses.

Nominations are open for 2 representatives for Winneba (i.e. Winneba and Ajumako), 1 for Kumasi and 1 for Mampong.

• Nominations Begin – Monday, January 29, 2018.
• Nominations End -Friday, February 9, 2018 (4:00pm).
• Declaration of Nominations, Friday, February 9, 2018
• Elections – Monday, February 26, 2018. (9:00am – 4:30pm)
• Declaration of Results – Monday, February 26, 2018. (5:00pm)

A candidate wishing to contest shall be nominated by an eligible Convocation member. The nominations should be supported by another eligible member of Convocation after which the nominee shall give his/her consent.

Prescribed nomination forms can be downloaded from the UEW Website (Attached to this notice) or obtained from the Department of Publishing and Web development (Publications Unit) (Winneba Campus), College Registrar’s Office (Ajumako Campus), College Registrar’s office/University Relations Office (Kumasi Campus) and College Registrar’s Office (Mampong Campus) during working hours.
