Social Responsibility and Ethics At University Of Ghana

Social Responsibility is concerned with what is – or should be – the relationship between global
corporations, governments of countries and individual citizens. More locally the definition is
concerned with the relationships between a corporation and the local society in which it resides. In
the arena of ethics as well, there are questions regarding whether or not corporations should be
controlled through increased regulation or whether or not the ethical base of citizenship has been
lost and needs replacing before socially responsible behaviour will ensue. This course on social
responsibility and ethics attempts to answer these questions by focusing on topics like the
principles of corporate social responsibility, stakeholders and the social contract, globalization and
corporate social responsibility as well as ethics, corporate social responsibility and corporate
behaviour.
