This course examines the contractual aspects of human resource management. It deals with the
issue of union-management relations and considers the environment in which industrial relations
takes place. It looks at the issue of strikes, collective bargaining and negotiations and presents the
theories and traditions which have historically influenced labour relations: Marxist/ Radical
theory, Pluralist and Unitary perspectives.
