Banking Operations At University Of Ghana
This course is meant to equip students with basic knowledge in banking operations. This will help
students acquire practical understanding of basic banking operations in the current banking
environment in Ghana and globally. In addition, it will provide students with the right analytical
mind set on operational processes and process reviews and enhancement in the market, which is
critical for any successful banking operations model in the fast changing banking operational setup.
Topics include Introduction to Banking Operations, Account Opening Processes and
Procedures and Know Your Customer (KYC) Principles and Management, Roles and
Responsibilities of Customer Advisors, Counter Services Staff and Management, Processes,
Procedures and Principles in Tellering/Cashiering, Cash Management and Operations, Payment
systems in Banking, Transaction Processing, Reconciliation and Suspense Accounts Management
and Control, Product Development, Implementation and Pricing, and Ethics in Banking.
