About Ensign College Of Public Health

Ghana is emerging as a democratic leader in the West Africa region. With political stability, this country has continued to develop over the past decade while other countries in the region face challenges that impede their economic and societal development. Ghana has the capacity to take an increasing role in this region for leading development and facilitatingadm1 1024x682 stabilization.
One of the main purposes for any well-governed society is to provide the environment for the health and wellness of its citizens. In this pursuit, governments typically sponsor and support institutions that promote community health and the provision of medical care. Institutions of higher education are an integral part of assuring an adequate workforce and knowledge base to support such health systems.
A growing trend is for private or public-private institutions to be developed that can complement the efforts of public institutions. However, these institutions must be developed in ways that optimize stability as they lack the government ‘safety-net’ afforded to public institutions. It therefore becomes imperative to take great care in planning and operationalizing private institutions so that resources invested provide a meaningful return in the form of enhanced scholarship and a contribution of competent professionals to the workforce.
Ensign College of Public Health is a private, not-for-profit, non-sectarian institution. It is sponsored by Bob and Lynette Gay and other sponsors, who also have a desire to raise the standard of health in the communities of Africa.
Ensign College of Public Health admits students of any race, colour, gender, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students of the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, national and ethnic origin in admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school administered programs, nor in employment.
